So, what's all the excitement for?

From the creative’s point of view, it gives sound designers the liberty to place the sound objects anywhere in the room with great precision. Up to 64 independent full range speakers are available to deliver the output of a total of 128 channels.

The immediate striking fact is that there are a lot of speakers on the ceiling, allowing for a lot of content to sound above our heads.

The mixing engineer doesn’t need to worry about which speaker will play a certain sound, he just chooses its position in the sound field with a joy-stick and the system will send it to the correct speaker or speakers.

There are 2 extra speakers behind the screen, as in SDDS, and there are also very useful LFE speakers at the back.

The result is absolutely amazing!

For the spectator, it’s a total immersive experience. Of course, there will always be sorcerer's apprentices that will fiddle around with the knobs and make a mess of the system, but, provided it is wisely used, it will always be very impressive.

Finally, if you were an exhibitor, this is a format that automatically adapts to any Dolby System, 5.1, 7.1 or Atmos. There will only be one file format to deliver.

One content = One file

Para quê tanta excitação?

Em primeiro lugar, do ponto de vista criativo, temos a possibilidade de colocar os objectos sonoros em qualquer ponto da sala com enorme precisão. Até 64 altifalantes full-range independentes estão disponíveis para veicular até 128 canais audio.

O aspecto mais vistoso é a existência de muitos altifalantes no tecto da sala, o que permite que algum conteúdo sonoro nos chegue por cima das nossas cabeças.

O engenheiro de mistura não precisa de se preocupar em escolher um altifalante para um determinado som, basta decidir a sua posição no campo sonoro com a ajuda de um joy-stick e o sistema irá colocá-lo automaticamente nos altifalantes certos.

Temos também 2 altifalantes extra, atrás do ecrã, tal como no SDDS, e ainda altifalantes LFE, muito úteis, na parte de trás da sala.

O resultado é pura e simplesmente extraordinário!

Em segundo lugar, para o espectador, é uma experiência totalmente imersiva.  Claro que haverá sempre uns aprendizes de feiticeiro que irão brincar com os botões e transformar o resultado numa confusão, mas, bem usado, será sempre impressionante.

Em terceiro lugar, do ponto de vista do exibidor, este é um formato que se adapta automaticamente a qualquer sistema Dolby montado na sala, 5.1, 7.1 ou Atmos. E haverá, portanto, apenas um ficheiro por conteúdo.
